In future, there will be two managing directors

On Monday, 11 June 2018, the shareholders’ meeting of DBE TECHNOLOGY appointed a second managing director. Dr Thilo von Berlepsch is the new managing director of DBE TECHNOLOGY alongside Dr Jürgen Krone. In future, the company will be led by two managing directors. In agreement with the shareholder, the Federal Environment Ministry, Dr Thomas Lautsch, the technical managing director of the Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE) will be appointed to the Management Board after Dr Jürgen Krone’s retirement.

DBE TECHNOLOGY is a wholly-owned subsidiary of BGE and will be renamed BGE TECHNOLOGY as soon as it has been entered in the commercial register. DBE TECHNOLOGY is active in the fields of international co-operations and projects, research and development, and repository safety.

Dr Thilo von Berlepsch has been with the company since 2012. The 49-year-old mechanical engineer is responsible for the business field “International Projects”. In his role as managing director, he will continue to be responsible for the international orientation. His colleague Dr Jürgen Krone is looking forward to working with him and wishes him all the best: “Thilo von Berlepsch has shown great skill in managing the international business field. I am confident that he will continue this in the new post”.

The Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE) is seeking a site for a repository for high-level radioactive waste and building the Konrad repository for low- and intermediate-level radioactive waste. The BGE is keeping the Morsleben repository open until decommissioning and is planning the retrieval of the radioactive waste from the Asse II mine. The BGE is a federally owned company within the portfolio of the Federal Environment Ministry. Its managing directors are Dr Ewold Seeba (Acting Chair), Professor Hans-Albert Lennartz (Commercial Manager) and Dr Thomas Lautsch (Technical Manager).
