How must surveys be designed to ensure that the health status of the people living in the vicinity of the Asse II mine is observed and assessed with respect to their radiation exposure? What actions must be taken to protect and inform the population? This is the topic of a panel discussion to be held at the Remlingen parish hall next Wednesday at 7 pm. Interested citizens are invited to the event hosted by the district administration of Wolfenbüttel and the Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung mbH (BGE).
Participants of the panel discussion: Eleonore Bischoff (Wolfenbütteler AtomAusstiegsGruppe), Dr. Rainer Gellermann (radioecologist) as well as the keynote speakers. Pastor Rolf Adler, environmental officer of the regional protestant church of Braunschweig and Hanover, will moderate the discussion.
The keynote speeches on topics such as health monitoring will be held by Dr. Volker Kunze (BGE) and Professor Dr. Wolfgang Hoffmann (Greifswald university). In March 2017, the district administration of Wolfenbüttel had organised an expert discussion on the topic of “low-level radiation and health”.
This panel discussion is part of the series of public events.
